Dear Parishioners,

As our Sacred Triduum is about to begin, I send you warm greetings, wishing we could be together in our beautiful parish church. The pandemic will not allow it, and my own struggle with the coronavirus leaves me quarantined. Your health and well-being are in my prayers and Masses.I invite us all to join together in prayer and worship during these holy days.

While you have many choices, I recommend to you the Live Liturgies broadcast from our Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph. (FIOS 48, OPTIMUM 30, and SPECTRUM 97).

Holy Thursday, Mass of the Lord’s Supper, 8PM

Good Friday, Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion, 11AM

The Easter Vigil in the Holy Night, 8PM

We will post our own Easter Sunday Mass from OLBS Church by 10AM to watch at your convenience. I hope to be well enough to celebrate it.

In addition, join our nation on Good Friday 12Noon for the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus from the National Shrine in Washington, D.C. for an end to this pandemic. And on Easter Sunday 1PM, hear Andrea Bocelli from the Milan Duomo. (See announcements below).

We receive in gratitude and celebration the gifts that flow from our Lord’s Passion: the Holy Eucharist, the Priesthood, the Mandatum to serve one another, Fruitful Suffering, Holy Baptism and the Forgiveness of Sins, and the Resurrection to Eternal Life. Praise be Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord.

Happy Easter, Father Bob

PRAYING THE LITANY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS ON GOOD FRIDAY AT NOON

PLENARY INDULGENCE

By a special grant from the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See for those who pray for the end of the pandemic, a plenary indulgence is available for those who join Archbishop Gomez (the President of the USCCB) in praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart on Good Friday at NOON. A plenary Indulgence removes all of the temporal punishment due to sins and may be applied to oneself or to the souls of the deceased [Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1471].

To receive this indulgence, a member of the faithful would need to

1. pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart on Good Friday

2. be truly repentant of any sins they have committed and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (at the

earliest opportunity)

3. pray for the Holy Father’s intentions.
